Broadcasting across Sussex and Hampshire on DAB+ Digital Radio, 80s Rhythm is popular regional commercial radio service that oozes nostalgia. Playing the very best 80s rhythmic hits, the station targets 30 to 55-year-olds and transports listeners back to a much loved decade full of fun and questionable fashion.
As a pioneer of the classic dance music format for more than two decades, Passion Radio boasts big name resident DJs Roger Sanchez, Chicane, Matt Darey and Hed Kandi. Standing out in its much-imitated field, the station plays dance anthems and floor fillers spanning the entire history of the genre to Portsmouth, Cambridge, Birmingham and Glasgow. With further expansion planned, Passion Radio not only plays ‘real dance music’ across the decades, it features the DJs that made it famous too.
Launched in 2019, Southdown Media's annual pop-up DAB service brings you non-stop festive favourites with a community feel. In the run up to Christmas, popular seasonal tracks are punctuated with local charity messages, with Southdown Media donating all airtime for free on this non-profit station.
During the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Southdown Media reacted quickly and set up an emergency health information station across the UK. The goal was to offer clear, uncluttered, simple advice on how to keep safe and stay well. With the support of DAB multiplex operators, as well as community and commercial radio organisations, the station went from an embryonic idea to national coverage in just four days. All coronavirus information was checked and verified by medical professionals, and then recorded and transmitted by volunteer presenters from their home studios during lockdown giving listeners much needed straightforward, accurate information.
Southdown Media's portfolio of stations offers a cost effective platform for reaching your audience and promoting your business. Get in touch to discuss how we, as small businesses, can work together to help each other out.
